Ethically Fashionable

silk kimono dressThe attitude towards organic and ethical fashion is starting to change dramatically. It takes good quality, interesting and exciting products to show people that making conscious decisions when shopping can both feel and look good.

I enjoy working with retailers and consumers who share similar ethics and environmentalist values. For me, using hemp and reclaimed materials is my way of making a positive contribution to the world.

At present, Enamore clothing is hand-made in the UK. In the future I would like to get involved in Fair Trade by moving some production to ethical producers in developing countries.

The label is really an ongoing project to get involved in as many of these areas as possible creating positive employment at home in the UK as well as further afield.

The future for Enamore includes expanding the range of designs and sizes available. I am also working on a hemp and reclaimed vintage lingerie collection which is a collaboration with designer Ayten Gasson. Without giving too much away you can look forward to a very beautiful underwear collection available in black, bronze and sand hemp/silk charmeuse which will make you look and feel gorgeous! I have just started working with a great new supplier in the UK and so have access to some fabulous new colours of hemp which will be included in my Spring and Summer Collection.

The Spring/Summer range is now online at www.thenaturalstore.co.uk and designs can also be found at Equa (www.equaclothing.com) in London. Enamore is also showcasing 5 dresses at the ‘Well Fashioned’ exhibition in London, organised by the Crafts Council. It opens on 23 March until 4 June when it then tours four major cities in the UK.

Join me next time when I will be giving you the inside news on summer collections available from Equa in London with labels like Ciel, Sari, People Tree, Eternal Creation and many more brands who are promoting ethics in a fashionable world.

All the best!
